About Me

Cogito Ergo Sum

(I think, therefore I am)

Hello there!, my name is Benedict Prince Zuze 😅. I'm a recent graduate from University of Malawi, with a first class bachelor's degree in Computer Science. My fascination with computers began in my childhood, thanks to my dad's desktop computer. After school, I'd spend hours alone or with friends, exploring and playing video games.

It's Me 😁

This love for video games persisted throughout my childhood and ultimately led me to choose Computer Science as my field of study. My college experience has been exciting, exposing me to various fields beyond game development that have both amazed and fascinated me. I'm particularly invested in Web development, AI development, and Game development.

I'm a huge fan of web development, especially backend development, which feels like an ideal combination of web development and systems programming, I use Axum (Rust) and Hono (serverless) or Nestjs for making backends. As a dedicated Linux user (with NixOS being my favorite distro), I have experience managing personal servers for testing applications, file storage and self-hosting applications.

My favorite programming languages are:

  • Rust
  • C++
  • Java
  • C#
  • Javascript/Typescript
  • Python

Rust is my go-to language for personal projects, while I use Javascript or Typescript for frontend development. My preferred frontend frameworks are React (including NextJS) and Astro.

Recently, I've developed a strong interest in AI. I particularly enjoy using pre-trained models from Hugging Face or Cloudflare's new AI platform to create AI-enhanced applications, as well as using AI frameworks like Langchain to make more complex AI applications. I hope to delve deeper into machine learning and deep learning in the future when I have more resources to expand my knowledge in this field.

Outside of programming and video games, I enjoy watching sports, especially football. My favorite team is Tottenham Hotspur. I prefer spending quality time with family and friends rather than being active on social media.

As the project coordinator (now former) for my school's Computing Society, which includes students from various computing-related programs on campus, I'm actively involved in fostering a community of tech enthusiasts. I'm planning to add a /now page to this site to keep visitors updated on my current endeavors.

I'm also eager to explore electronics, working with development boards such as Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi to build tools and devices for home automation and other projects.

That's about all from me for now. Be sure to check out my blog, which I've committed to updating regularly. Thanks for stopping by!
